How to create a landing page for Facebook ads, step by step

Last reviewed October 18, 2026

Quick answerGive each Facebook or Instagram ad a page that repeats its offer, asks for one action and carries your Meta pixel. A plain page on your own site is one route; a landing page builder is the other.

How to create a landing page for Facebook ads: the short version

To create a landing page for Facebook and Instagram ads, state one offer, repeat the ad's words in the headline, add one form, install the Meta Pixel and publish on your own domain. You can do all five on your own site or in a landing page builder, then change one thing at a time and compare the versions.

Do you need a landing page for Facebook ads?

Not always. Meta's instant forms collect leads inside the ad: people tap the ad and fill out a form, and only the Leads objective can use them. When an ad links to a website, Meta's checklist says the site must work and be clearly accessible and relevant to the ad. The same checklist names disruptive content, such as pop up ads, as something the site must not contain.

Meta's checklist states no rule on page length or layout, and it says it is not the full set of Meta's advertising policies.

Five steps from the ad to the page

  1. State one offer, the same one the ad makes.
  2. Put the ad's own words in the headline, so the click lands on what the ad promised.
  3. Add one form. Meta's documented setup for people who contact you through a website is the Leads objective, Website as the conversion location and Contact as the conversion event.
  4. Install the Meta Pixel, a piece of code you put on your website. Create it in Events Manager, where it gets an ID. Meta says a manual setup may need a developer's help.
  5. Publish on your own domain. If you use a builder, skip its shared test address: Instapage does not recommend running ads to its pagedemo.co address.

Then run one test: split new visitors between two versions of the page and compare. Google Ads has its own destination rules, covered in how to create a landing page for Google Ads.

Build it on your own site or with a builder

If you can edit a page on your own site and add the pixel code yourself, you need no builder. Move to one when each ad needs its own page.

Instapage Create, at $99 a month, billed monthly as read on October 18, 2026, lets you paste your Meta pixel ID into each page it builds. Open the page, choose Integrations, then Marketing Tags & Pixels, then Meta Pixel, paste the ID and click Update Experience, which makes the change go live.

Instapage Optimize adds dynamic text replacement, page text that changes to match a value in the page's web address. Instapage's help center says Google and Facebook ad links use such parameters.

The Instapage review lists every plan, and best landing page builder for lead generation sets it beside other builders. You can build the page during the 14-day Instapage trial, after entering a card that is charged when the trial ends unless you cancel.

What Instapage does not do for Meta ads

AdMap connects Google Ads search ads to pages; the help center says only search ads can be connected, so it does not cover Meta ads. Instapage's help center also says its cost reporting has been removed for now.

The pixel field belongs to one page at a time. Adding a script to every page at once is the Workspace scripts feature, which the plans table lists on Convert only. Meta also recommends its Conversions API next to the pixel; Instapage's help center documents a Zapier route for it, which needs the pixel on the page, a hidden form field and a Zapier account.
